On July 11-12, HELTA TESOL hosted the 1st TESOL Academy in Honduras. This was a first time event in our country and brought together 200 national and international participants and 5 International experts including TESOL President 2017-2018, Dr. Luciana de Oliveira! It was also the first time a TESOL President attended a conference in Honduras.

Our affiliation and membership to TESOL International Association has been so successful that on July 11-12, 2018 we will host a TESOL Academy with keynote speaker Luciana de Oliveira, TESOL President 2018-2019 and experts: Holly Hansen-Thomas from Texas Women University; Susan Gaer, Professor Emeritus Santa Ana College; Gabriel Diaz Maggioli, National Teacher College Montevideo and Kia McDaniel, Prince George County Public Schools. These experts will train 200 Honduran teachers through four intensive workshops related to: K12 Methodology, CALL in Various Scenarios, Grammar Theories and Methodologies, and Teacher Empowerment through Action Research.
